Less known benefits of credit cards with rewards found in fine print

Credit cards with rewards are one of the most popular credit cards opted by consumers. Benefits such as discounts, airline miles, cash backs and other rewards are as visible as the sky. There are some benefits, however, that one cannot see easily but can be found by just reading the fine print. This might also serve as an indication for people to read the fine print with more attention.

According to an article written by David Slade on postandcourier.com, his experience has taught him to read up on all the benefits that a lot of credit cards offer. He also unveiled many additional benefits that are little less known by a lot of consumers.

One of the perks is purchase protection, which covers accidental damage and theft of an item that is purchased with a credit card. The purchase protection is usually offered up to 90 days. There are lots of exclusions on this though, so it’s better to call the customer service of your credit card company.

Slade also mentioned that there is an extended warranty of items that one can get by using the card. This, along with the one mentioned before, has some exceptions as well.

For cards affiliated with airlines and hotels, their cards also offer free insurance coverage for cancelled or delayed trips. Companies can also offer price protection for purchases too.
