Living within your means is typically not thought about when purchasing a phone. YOU DO NOT NEED A PHONE THAT CAN SCHEDULE YOUR MEETINGS, WHILE ORDERING FOOD, WHILE EMAILING YOUR ASSIGNMENT TO YOUR PROFESSOR. We're in college, all we really need is a phone that can make and receive phone calls, and text occasionally. Stick with prepaid companies like Net 10. Net 10 has great rates and even an unlimited plan for the big talkers. $50 a month for talk, text, data and even 411. Dumbing down your mobile expense may not seem like a huge game changer, but it adds up. Trust me.

My new years resolution was to save more money! I started by getting a prepaid cell phone. Instead of having a contract phone and a landline, I now have a prepaid cell phone where I pay only $50/month and receive unlimited minutes, text, and web and I am saving almost $50 from when I had my contract phone. Couldn’t get any better than this.

Cut down on unnecessary expenses. I cut down on eating out and going out. Instead, I save money by cooking and having movie/game nights at home. I also got rid of my BlackBerry about bought a prepaid cell phone. Instead of spending hundereds of dollars on my phone bill, I am spending $45 a month for unlimited talk, text, and data. It's an incredibly cheap plan and I am saving so much money!

Does Quicken also have the auto-categorization feature of Mint? It is a nightmare and is driving me away from Mint. Single-most reason for leaving Mint. It fills in automatically the wrong label more than sixty percent of the time (I counted) and the mistakes are often difficult to recognize (because they are filled in with labels taken randomly from previous transactions). If Quicken shares this feature I can't use it. I spend hours each week correcting the auto-categorization errors.

I have been doing meal planning for years, and it really saves money. A lot of money and time too. I heard about a new site at Church. www.mygroceryspy.com It compares prices at the top stores here in Atlanta. From what I’ve read, it updates twice a week and shows where the lowest prices are on a few hundred items. You can print out your shopping list or have it sent to your phone. (I’m not savvy enough for that though). I email them since their not up yet, and they told me they will be up on January 20 in Atlanta and Birmingham AL. then other cities. I can’t wait to try it.
